What is Electropolished Tubing?

Electropolish Stainless steel is the result of reverse plating, and an electrochemical solution is used to strip away the outer skin of the metal. LONGYU is a prominent manufacturer, stockiest, supplier, and distributor of Stainless Steel Electropolished Pipes & Tubes. Electropolished Stainless Steel Tubing is used for biotechnology, semiconductor, and pharmaceutical applications. The finishing of electroplating has different standards for use in other applications. These applications require a medium range of finish. Electro Polishing is a process that removes the absolute roughness of any metal in an electropolishing plant. This process makes the pipes more accurate in dimensions, and the Ep Pipe can be installed with accuracy in sensitive systems like pharmaceutical industrial applications. Different materials could be electropolished, enabling the Electro-Polished SS Pipes to retain minor contaminants on the surface. These pipes are available in various sizes ranging from 6NB to 1200NB and outer diameters from 1/8" to 12" NPS with thicknesses of 0.6mm to 12.7 mm.

STAINLESS STEEL ELECTROPOLISHED PIPES & TUBES 

The seamless pipes are dimensionally accurate and can have less absolute roughness. Electropolishing works when the application is susceptible and needs the inside of the pipe to be as clean and smooth as possible. This procedure is carried out by electrolysis in, where the product loses atom by atom on the surface and comes to a polished finish. However, the process has its downfalls as well. Even with this method, the absolute roughness persists to some extent. These tubes and pipes are used in various applications such as dairy production, brewery, food industry, pharmacy, cosmetics, chemical industry, and more. These pipes and tubes are known for better corrosion, good flow characteristics, improved hygiene, and smooth finish. 
Electropolished (EP) Tubing

For applications with surface finish requirements well beyond the quality realized in a standard mill finish, we maintain an inventory of electropolished stainless steel tubing in diameters ranging from 1/8" through 1". Through submersion in an electrically charged electrolyte solution bath, a smooth uniform surface is created by dissolving imperfections. This process removes any contamination on or just below the tube's surface and passivates it, bolstering the corrosion resistance of the steel. EP stainless steel tubing is typically used in the following applications:
